This is a test to see if I can still operate on this site after such a long delay in cyberspace. I am considering starting a virtual book club for my three very adorable grandchildren where we might converse about books we are reading. SSSSHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhh! They are getting lots of books for Christmas, complete with book marks where they can give a rating for each book. <br />
Whadaya say Amber, Owen and Isaac. Are you interested? I can't HEAR you. That must be because it is not yet Christmas and you have not received your book marks. I'll just have to be patient, won't I? I still have a few books to read before Christmas and some book marks to make, so I'd best be peddling away now. On Tuesday as I peddled into the home stretch I was congratulating myself on making the trip safe and sound. Then as a started up the driveway I fumbled and fell off my bike. I just got a scrape on my left elbow and left knee so am not much the worse for wear. It was the 1st time I had been on my purple bike for several months. The weather is perfect for riding - about 72 degrees. I've found a route that has quite a bit of shade so that is very pleasant and should help when the weather turns hotter.Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-43507013521487226632010-11-18T20:31:00.000-08:002010-11-18T20:48:25.471-08:00Like Riding a BicycleI got back on my Purple Bicycle yesterday after who knows how long without riding. Was meeting friends for lunch at San Martin Cafe. It was a gorgeous day (sunny, 72 degrees, not windy) so I pumped up my two flat tires and took off for San Martin. I was definitely out of shape in the bike riding department, huffing and puffing by the time I got around the corner while still on Easy Street. My bike odometer battery was out of juice so mercifully I could not tell how slow I was going. It did feel good to be peddling again and I do intend to make it a more regular occurance than it has been during 2010. <br />San Martin Cafe has reopened with its new owners and my chicken soup was excellent. And the visit with friends was great. They were all overly impressed with the fact that I had riden my bike to lunch. It was really close but a very reasonable distance for my first bike ride in months and months.Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-25096344700180814262010-08-22T21:28:00.001-07:002010-08-22T21:28:04.504-07:00A Photo of the Photographer and Her Photo<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLzGA413Eukngins9ihGgfhlsN9dbfnJ1msx-R9HMpaT2Zb1oYLwvtAg1mm_dUgoCGxrTZ1knmHTyTZf-AjAtY3EWII4YB5VtgnWzDskFPim5YHjQmkOmHTPnKZ2e3U2nq2SyKrzp6KWjv/s1600/DSCN4925-784505.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLzGA413Eukngins9ihGgfhlsN9dbfnJ1msx-R9HMpaT2Zb1oYLwvtAg1mm_dUgoCGxrTZ1knmHTyTZf-AjAtY3EWII4YB5VtgnWzDskFPim5YHjQmkOmHTPnKZ2e3U2nq2SyKrzp6KWjv/s320/DSCN4925-784505.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5508457410212126866" /></a></p>So what has Purple Bicycle been up to lately? The Easter Bunny hid 13 eggs for him in our back yard and he found all of them. For now he has no competition so he stops to examine and taste the contents of each egg before proceeding to the next find. Inside the eggs were loquats, cumquats, Cinnamon Toast cereal, a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie and a tiny bunny in a basket. Once Amber and Owen have a few more years of experience they will give him a run for his eggs and I suspect that he won't stop to examine and eat the contents of each one during the hunt. Only time will tell. But for right now, at 8 and 1/2 months Amber and Owen aren't that mobile yet.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbpzdUZMxBgRe4jBk1g-ynFh9aUIX6UaoDtZKRR5ETno_7iB8-Nlgb4b1Ve3S1clAvo7yPl8hFQdaEQycetmktdboc-ULUEEYlWgmpyDjZUbDsNU3TJ5Xq5L6i5JTDhc4jaxkHhx2a1pQ7/s1600/DSCN4354.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; FLOAT: left; CLEAR: both" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbpzdUZMxBgRe4jBk1g-ynFh9aUIX6UaoDtZKRR5ETno_7iB8-Nlgb4b1Ve3S1clAvo7yPl8hFQdaEQycetmktdboc-ULUEEYlWgmpyDjZUbDsNU3TJ5Xq5L6i5JTDhc4jaxkHhx2a1pQ7/s320/DSCN4354.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizRLtTCTQYr3yj5yfklHFMZb2iN6ZWf7JBEdRqh2BI2as-r8FTU4EXPDzxtfrorOkWzk-N3RMMEhxoF39ZWt967CDj1Z1gqp0oZNyMR9Zn3K8hwdY8gmp-aNgDeF9O_S7iYhE0lZB4Bq1w/s1600/DSCN4361.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; FLOAT: left; CLEAR: both" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizRLtTCTQYr3yj5yfklHFMZb2iN6ZWf7JBEdRqh2BI2as-r8FTU4EXPDzxtfrorOkWzk-N3RMMEhxoF39ZWt967CDj1Z1gqp0oZNyMR9Zn3K8hwdY8gmp-aNgDeF9O_S7iYhE0lZB4Bq1w/s320/DSCN4361.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjme5kAXOg1kEsh6VTX2HVd9gafHV020MhKqjDQn61ezNzq3prIVjMuA74r_TTWHmun8o8ZyzFMOqHSg95Lwrw_gPHknGMizZ59GWL6ArXW8Hyy2XBmJMLd4KUqz72bQ_XlVqj6Y5PyCDLJ/s1600/DSCN4367.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; FLOAT: left; CLEAR: both" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjme5kAXOg1kEsh6VTX2HVd9gafHV020MhKqjDQn61ezNzq3prIVjMuA74r_TTWHmun8o8ZyzFMOqHSg95Lwrw_gPHknGMizZ59GWL6ArXW8Hyy2XBmJMLd4KUqz72bQ_XlVqj6Y5PyCDLJ/s320/DSCN4367.JPG" /></a> <div style="TEXT-ALIGN: left; CLEAR: both"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BACKGROUND: 0% 50%; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial" border="0" alt="Posted by Picasa" align="middle" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" /></a></div>Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-82569929013031438892010-02-21T18:44:00.001-08:002010-02-21T18:51:37.283-08:00Compost Happens<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnfr4Metl8c-XKd20hYG6FXhQIltEVXv_BgkJdocxGN5FPkLLWFKRqy8l69bbLGUoX7l8f20tNPOnQ9J5hkDc06ycnuCwYnvUN43q2JtwRLAyJl5W8_FsC8lcvf1e3g_raNZxxjiQzbH3b/s1600-h/DSCN3803-776174.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440893247439466882" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnfr4Metl8c-XKd20hYG6FXhQIltEVXv_BgkJdocxGN5FPkLLWFKRqy8l69bbLGUoX7l8f20tNPOnQ9J5hkDc06ycnuCwYnvUN43q2JtwRLAyJl5W8_FsC8lcvf1e3g_raNZxxjiQzbH3b/s320/DSCN3803-776174.JPG" /></a></p>Here you can see an Official CBT for Recology (formerly South Valley Disposal).<br />Oh, don't know what CBT is? It's Compost Bin Tester. I volunteered<br />about two years ago to be a CBT and it has been a very rewarding<br />experience. The bin came with some assembly required. Son Jay<br />willingly helped me with that. I have been composting for many years<br />but never in an Official Bin. It has a door on the back side that you<br />can pull up to get out compost that has been in the bin the longest<br />and thus it is the most "composted". My plants are happy, I am happy<br />and Julie from Recology is happy.Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-67937593038865841472010-02-15T20:41:00.001-08:002010-02-15T20:41:55.312-08:00Tree on Tree<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjliYXpX-JUsTGemIHcrUPP9JzXQwGnlS1X71JDPLNTqNoMDLdLOAGkiiyKNmOk6WFPo1fgmyoWGZDHUvbmLBnVJiRZOd7P13DsegKgq3lp7nq0TuEsNIa6dJnSx8Hbzop9VvKeEHmacMP2/s1600-h/DSCN3919-715312.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjliYXpX-JUsTGemIHcrUPP9JzXQwGnlS1X71JDPLNTqNoMDLdLOAGkiiyKNmOk6WFPo1fgmyoWGZDHUvbmLBnVJiRZOd7P13DsegKgq3lp7nq0TuEsNIa6dJnSx8Hbzop9VvKeEHmacMP2/s320/DSCN3919-715312.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438696965363082866" /></a></p><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeBrithfqiFMSHwsk32xicXFMnzICV5CoO9j0Ygh-5KZCXgEItctg6yNbv5hmxD5goF3fkyxI0TCZ_pSFbZD0mDKuDYdTorCPZXk4b163LrDCRiKFSLaQ-ZgPF2kIdtPkPjRECwRwQrXin/s1600-h/DSCN3925-716377.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeBrithfqiFMSHwsk32xicXFMnzICV5CoO9j0Ygh-5KZCXgEItctg6yNbv5hmxD5goF3fkyxI0TCZ_pSFbZD0mDKuDYdTorCPZXk4b163LrDCRiKFSLaQ-ZgPF2kIdtPkPjRECwRwQrXin/s320/DSCN3925-716377.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438696972260699666" /></a></p>Here is the tree I made out of about 100 pieces of 24 gauge steel<br>wire. The tree is mounted onto a piece of petrified wood that my<br>nephew Gordon gave us when we were on our Arizona road trip November<br>2009. The trees were silver until our teacher Earnest "cooked" them in<br>the oven at 550 degrees until they turned bluish black. Then he<br>sprayed them with cold water to finish the tempering process. The<br>trees will gradually turn a darker black as it ages. Everybody's tree<br>is unique and each person is proud of their own tree and is so glad to<br>have gotten to participate in the class. Earnest has been crafting trees out of wire for 40 years and agreed to let a small group of us sign up for a four-week class. Once a week, we twist and twist and twist and then take a break for nuts and sweets and coffee and wine. Since I had my camera I couldn't resist snapping this advice about wine. If you would like to see our teacher's handicraft you can go to his website at <a href="http://www.nanajos.com/">http://www.nanajos.com/</a>. Earnest is truly a renaissance man. Besides being an artist he is a Lutheran minister, a master chef, a very patient teacher and no telling what else that I don't even know about! I promise to post a photo of my finished tree. Today I did some homework twisting during the Super Bowl - a pretty exciting game. Right now the score is Saints 16 and Colts 17. I am rooting for the Saints since they have never won a Super Bowl. <div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; CLEAR: both"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BACKGROUND: 0% 50%; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial" border="0" alt="Posted by Picasa" align="middle" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" /></a></div>Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-36407378459068175362010-01-21T22:57:00.001-08:002010-01-21T23:08:26.970-08:00Santa Clause Welcomes Jesus<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-qV7PoWV6J-n-AWNILIkNzhItbTnNwY1slQyWl_SphrMvuYYOFpo_CzE-KMuoo-xPc3iEpmIMEJbxTUDMv9C2CevjZRtVcepmcCx-s3DeX5kkEewqSGTZ4Uh8S0OpBU7Yo45kFSioTd_j/s1600-h/DSCN3710-775248.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429454886218412290" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-qV7PoWV6J-n-AWNILIkNzhItbTnNwY1slQyWl_SphrMvuYYOFpo_CzE-KMuoo-xPc3iEpmIMEJbxTUDMv9C2CevjZRtVcepmcCx-s3DeX5kkEewqSGTZ4Uh8S0OpBU7Yo45kFSioTd_j/s320/DSCN3710-775248.JPG" /></a></p>I just could not resist capturing this historic moment. I would be<br />interested in hearing what some of you out there in the eithernet do<br />to pamper yourselves...Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-15518966455262323532010-01-03T15:26:00.001-08:002010-01-03T15:26:59.297-08:00Mr and Mrs Santa with Amber, Owen and Isaac<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTkT0AeJJDW8o15evWrQpcDTe5fNqY15eL3ceyihIzaax1RwG7yFTeZeaMwVwhazDysiewZ4EhX_0bzFpAfBW4YtpISRRONLsNXlGyDW4nY4oL9WF2-I66ygv85iLmEx1rqXZvlfXO9NgG/s1600-h/17477_405672895346_859960346_10611310_4518248_n-719299.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTkT0AeJJDW8o15evWrQpcDTe5fNqY15eL3ceyihIzaax1RwG7yFTeZeaMwVwhazDysiewZ4EhX_0bzFpAfBW4YtpISRRONLsNXlGyDW4nY4oL9WF2-I66ygv85iLmEx1rqXZvlfXO9NgG/s320/17477_405672895346_859960346_10611310_4518248_n-719299.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422659145798412258" /></a></p>Amber, Owen and Isaac had BRUNCH with Calinda Clause and Santa Clause<br>at the Morgan Hill Community Center on December 17th, 2009. This photo illustrates<br />my first one which is to "religiously" use my Neti Pot at least once<br />every day. Yes, it really works and no, it does not feel that good<br />while you are using it. They are available at drugstores or you can go<br />to <a href="http://www.nasaflo.com/">http://www.nasaflo.com/</a>. <p>Here's a few others: Use up the teas I have before buying more.<br />Take a walk or a bike ride every today. I went on a nice walk today<br />and so far I am at 9708 steps at 4:15 pm so should have no trouble<br />making 10,000 steps today.<br />Try at least one new recipe every week. (I'm reading Julie and Julia<br />and cannot imagine myself being as ambitious as she was with all those<br />Julia Child recipes). I actually have a cookbook called "The Busy<br />Woman's 3 Ingredient Cookbook". I have lots of other cookbooks and<br />many recipes I have saved from newspapers and magazines. <p>That's enough reporting of all my good intentions for today. The list<br />I started is upstairs. I'll report in a later blog if any seem worth<br />mentioning.</p>Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-10522013969371498412009-11-24T08:56:00.000-08:002009-11-24T08:56:09.152-08:00A Sort of Wide Spot in the Road<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px"><br />Hello from Route 66<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM505zmtOWch5tNpVGiIMc2ig5L8nqT2PgmllDu-HJa7qPY7Fzj_yltMYMPpuFKCcxP59i7wfx0CSSaIYUV8OsfiO16EuPPKLtt0Qcg8wvfmcnW0GaQCmfE4kbiFe5yAC-U2nS1-SxYlFf/s1600/DSCN3129.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM505zmtOWch5tNpVGiIMc2ig5L8nqT2PgmllDu-HJa7qPY7Fzj_yltMYMPpuFKCcxP59i7wfx0CSSaIYUV8OsfiO16EuPPKLtt0Qcg8wvfmcnW0GaQCmfE4kbiFe5yAC-U2nS1-SxYlFf/s320/DSCN3129.JPG" /></a> </div><br />No, I did not travel this highway on my Purple Bicycle. I had a 20% off coupon so I decided to make it a two B day: bed (sheets) and beyond (tomato kit).<br />Planting was pretty easy. No hole to dig.<br />Watering is easy. It goes in a hole at the top. But watering is pretty crucial. Almost daily watering seemed to be necessary. There were some occasions of uneven water supply when I was out of town so the production seemed to be somewhat affected.<br />You can place two tomato plants in one container but I didn't read that part of the instructions until after I had already planted just one.<br />The container is hanging from the southeast corner of our deck and probably gets about 8 hours of sun a day. I have just now started getting a few tomatoes. The shapes are a little strange but they taste fine. I don't remember what variety it was - something ordinary from Rite Aid I think.<br />Will I try it again? Probably, especially if I can use this same container again. <br /><div style="TEXT-ALIGN: right; CLEAR: both"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BACKGROUND: 0% 50%; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial" border="0" alt="Posted by Picasa" align="middle" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" /></a></div>Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-22713242680750233542009-08-25T22:27:00.000-07:002009-08-25T22:28:41.221-07:00Meandering on My Purple Bicycle<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJFCG0zNKWjr1CqPRwDzCh0y2FASy9l3udX2v0-JzX3XfTPEOSfaaqgCLXsijUb1QBoZUB7AZdEWBi0q0ZzR0jU3MBe6jWixpovA9mlKpt7W7EKfTSq0_ZHJm2kd40WGbUMfnWgNtPxnzO/s1600-h/DSCN1845.JPG"><strong><img style="CLEAR: both; FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJFCG0zNKWjr1CqPRwDzCh0y2FASy9l3udX2v0-JzX3XfTPEOSfaaqgCLXsijUb1QBoZUB7AZdEWBi0q0ZzR0jU3MBe6jWixpovA9mlKpt7W7EKfTSq0_ZHJm2kd40WGbUMfnWgNtPxnzO/s160/DSCN1845.JPG" border="0" /></strong></a> While meandering on my Purple Bicycle down Middle Avenue one day I pulled off into a field so I could get photos of a sunflower. There seemed to be a stuffed ram to the right of the<br>trailer. No one was around so I went closer to take a photo. As I was<br>focusing on the ram it moved its head. I would not have noticed<br>either the sunflowers or the ewe from a car.Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-61535241929718749572009-08-17T21:44:00.001-07:002009-08-17T21:58:32.926-07:00A Biker's Lunch<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6e3YUfvrKuCezYFCoQszL4aglnxo1JGTnCtnnuBM0KuYpDrQ_OX6mEG16EmMSugA_tIweouUsO7kztqT-LLppu_R9i4LsIxZQdqSCSG9xSCMtRDVcmLNnFeO6KBLaqmZuBR4hk-t06s1a/s1600-h/DSCN1868-777066.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371160162568162434" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6e3YUfvrKuCezYFCoQszL4aglnxo1JGTnCtnnuBM0KuYpDrQ_OX6mEG16EmMSugA_tIweouUsO7kztqT-LLppu_R9i4LsIxZQdqSCSG9xSCMtRDVcmLNnFeO6KBLaqmZuBR4hk-t06s1a/s160/DSCN1868-777066.JPG" border="0" /></a>City Boy goes on a bike ride and to lunch.</p><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbqAJmAdCkqD7QIrHDjJUlyqkJl9B6wAo7CTfPH6gD93NZw2jsotQ6DNneAOBDPipMGI3KjzbnD-cu2CzMtzUs9wkRQwOSzItrsM79W6CU0xYPWloAL8AdWuJLhmmDHWU6l6rM-rvuraIR/s1600-h/DSCN1871-778320.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371160164721357074" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbqAJmAdCkqD7QIrHDjJUlyqkJl9B6wAo7CTfPH6gD93NZw2jsotQ6DNneAOBDPipMGI3KjzbnD-cu2CzMtzUs9wkRQwOSzItrsM79W6CU0xYPWloAL8AdWuJLhmmDHWU6l6rM-rvuraIR/s160/DSCN1871-778320.JPG" border="0" /></a>A ramp to nowhere... nowhere dry...anyway...</p><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOIz_HZlZ4naYJz__PjdipkMdcBbfryXSYcYj5qgNgL0oiP_K2jzDFMMIXdN664EhIddAX4SET_qa_ocnlXF2Xur_FKtUZ0U3w90MwOkF7vG20dxdUrri66ezQSS8489YSTMlTo9f_MfXu/s1600-h/DSCN1873-779784.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371160171191956546" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOIz_HZlZ4naYJz__PjdipkMdcBbfryXSYcYj5qgNgL0oiP_K2jzDFMMIXdN664EhIddAX4SET_qa_ocnlXF2Xur_FKtUZ0U3w90MwOkF7vG20dxdUrri66ezQSS8489YSTMlTo9f_MfXu/s160/DSCN1873-779784.JPG" border="0" /></a>A cool shady spot</p><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu0ZMc1EIqH0zoqFx7xyW0ZJFnkAZ4xqs9TkqRERiogJbtclsykRGe_4CFN4gPCcecpkFeEqovRnyQvIf6wGiOA6YdAqhxluc3l2FqOEKFCUhuEiEB3jZiNG8YB1GGLiB94FjuMHbIknOM/s1600-h/DSCN1877-781400.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371160180520866770" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu0ZMc1EIqH0zoqFx7xyW0ZJFnkAZ4xqs9TkqRERiogJbtclsykRGe_4CFN4gPCcecpkFeEqovRnyQvIf6wGiOA6YdAqhxluc3l2FqOEKFCUhuEiEB3jZiNG8YB1GGLiB94FjuMHbIknOM/s160/DSCN1877-781400.JPG" border="0" /></a>Berry pickin' time is here.</p><p class="mobile-photo"> </p>Made it back on and off the Purple Bicycle yesterday with no mishaps.<br />First was a ride to the place where I fell week before last. I wanted<br />to see if I dented the pavement. To my surprise, it was dirt covered with an<br />inch or two of pine needles. And no visible dents. I proceeded on the<br />nice shaded trail I had been headed to two weeks ago and made my way<br />to Llagas Creek. I picked some blackberries to go with the rest of my<br />lunch of fruit, nuts and a cheese stick. Once I was seated at my<br />favorite spot by the pond I decided to photograph my snacky lunch<br />before digging in. OK, I admit that the folded napkin might have been<br />a little bit of overkill but I did want to stage a nice photo. City<br />Boy was good company. I love to lunch while reading. My left view was<br />Purple Bicycle. The pond and a newly installed ramp into the pool were<br />the view to my right. A delicious lunch! The berries were a nice<br />addition to the plums. Just another day in paradise!Zerlindatarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04627502212185287271noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2855344188397478395.post-58008825269531963402009-08-16T12:30:00.000-07:002009-08-16T12:31:09.604-07:00The Al Bundy Chronicles<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPIb9r-soUme76inui4rGUWAQtC6s2yFSaGYwuFlvRp3iTMLCbJwqBJHm2k-z1YbZk_DKrGsBe_imi8vwXHQebdYxf3sJuVmiG_kDlcOvrxfZ9dhun6unO3gSxaTmHsvkiCeMvZ9IUSFIM/s1600-h/DSCN1693.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPIb9r-soUme76inui4rGUWAQtC6s2yFSaGYwuFlvRp3iTMLCbJwqBJHm2k-z1YbZk_DKrGsBe_imi8vwXHQebdYxf3sJuVmiG_kDlcOvrxfZ9dhun6unO3gSxaTmHsvkiCeMvZ9IUSFIM/s160/DSCN1693.JPG" border="0" /></a> Time for another nap...<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLsLB7GLxBVfVrGGY-WsG1vNFCgdP2ZobM5kSVS8cuJIOKAKvl_sr4xwNPmzgsr76RA4k5lGiurSu4VdbHeq9GlRDG14V0NFv9XbQjwrXo9LN5X473nKkYH-ih4BKsdhIa_6yLoHOQhbIR/s1600-h/DSCN1694.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLsLB7GLxBVfVrGGY-WsG1vNFCgdP2ZobM5kSVS8cuJIOKAKvl_sr4xwNPmzgsr76RA4k5lGiurSu4VdbHeq9GlRDG14V0NFv9XbQjwrXo9LN5X473nKkYH-ih4BKsdhIa_6yLoHOQhbIR/s160/DSCN1694.JPG" border="0" /></a> Since when did Repo Man get cancelled?<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij2YEGfMPFGSozQkf72K4l8CqgpOiPPfTb9uMJ4gQTynOkYMoQ6HgYRE84X3FlMLZLZbzIkOl7dsHtWyMK2NJ-zaH0f6eFXQKkRKGZcq8XnffdXdboLbywXTRD2pST1XrIQHSCqNVeJyIU/s1600-h/DSCN1695.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij2YEGfMPFGSozQkf72K4l8CqgpOiPPfTb9uMJ4gQTynOkYMoQ6HgYRE84X3FlMLZLZbzIkOl7dsHtWyMK2NJ-zaH0f6eFXQKkRKGZcq8XnffdXdboLbywXTRD2pST1XrIQHSCqNVeJyIU/s160/DSCN1695.JPG" border="0" /></a> Hey Peg, how 'bout you find the kitchen and bring me a brew and some Cheetos?<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlC_hRhCuvs7CErhDzFJ3rK_1xiXFSuNdstV0-3XlV4Rq1AxHrWW9FAH6fI18SGRo-3W82Mq1jgEDFRCW2wTxfh6fKLA4huhAOS5J03FuFzj_wrl50fPgQKp-ohI-2fu6jiR8Oc-yMAUa2/s1600-h/DSCN1696.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlC_hRhCuvs7CErhDzFJ3rK_1xiXFSuNdstV0-3XlV4Rq1AxHrWW9FAH6fI18SGRo-3W82Mq1jgEDFRCW2wTxfh6fKLA4huhAOS5J03FuFzj_wrl50fPgQKp-ohI-2fu6jiR8Oc-yMAUa2/s160/DSCN1696.JPG" border="0" /></a> Ah! It seems that the helpful guys at the<br />bike shop moved the seat up a few inches while installing my new<br />baskets. On my first ride afterwards I noticed that the seat seemed<br />higher but decided to give it a try since I was in a hurry to get to<br />an exercise class at the CRC. When I pulled over to a curb to get off<br />and walk purple bike up onto the sidewalk my foot didn't reach down to<br />the pavement in the way I was used to. Too late! I was trapped up on<br />the too high seat as the purple bicycle and I both tumbled onto the<br />hard hard pavement. The really good news is that I didn't break<br />anything but have just been very slow-moving for about a week and a<br />half. The purple bicycle seat has been lowered and I am ready to get<br />back on the purple horsey tomorrow. And no, I didn't make it to the<br />exercise class on that ill-fated day. But Purple Bicycle and I did<br />make it home without having to be towed.
